Welcome to Kate's Vineyard!
Our 16 acre vineyard, small winery and home are located in the cooler end of the valley,
between Napa and Yountville, on the valley floor. We are about 1 mile from the Stag's
Leap area, as the crow flies. We have lived and grown grapes here for 30 years.
Our small winery was built in 1988, when our daughter Kate was 6 years old.
We grow Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Syrah. The land is on the edge of an alluvial fan,
which provides deep and somewhat rocky soils. The area enjoys nearly daily breezes.
Our wines are gently handcrafted and are made exclusively from the fruit we grow.
We make the wines ourselves,
with expert advice and the help of a small band
of friends: the Harvest Heroes. Tim Milos is our consulting winemaker.
Our wines have a clean, fruity style clearly reflecting their origin.
They are offered under our Sedna label.
Sedna is the subject of a creation
story among the Inuit, the native people of far Northern Canada.
